Ukulele Tutorial for the Beatles' In My Life

For those wanting to learn another Beatles song, we’re thrilled to feature the following In My Life ukulele tutorial. Even if you’re not a Beatles fan, In My Life is such a beautiful song to learn on the ukulele. The song has sentimental lyrics, bluesy melody and ingenious instrumental arrangement. Indeed, you won’t regret giving the time to learn and master this nostalgic love song.

While the original song by the Beatles released in 1965 is in key of A, Jenny transposed the song to key of C for two reasons. First of all, the chords are easier on this key. Also, this key fits Jenny’s voice better. So let’s get to the chords of song which are C, G, Am, C7, F, Fm, Dm, D7 and Bb. Although the chords Fm and Bb are a little complicated, Jenny shows how to play those chords in the video.

Let’s learn another Iz song on the ukulele with Jenny’s What a Wonderful World ukulele tutorial. While Louis Armstrong originally recorded What a Wonderful World in 1967, Israel KamakawiwoÊ»ole included the song in a ukulele medley he released in 1993. Indeed, many other notable musicians have recorded this song which expresses appreciation and gratitude for the world that we live in.

Molly Malone Ukulele Tutorial

Get ready to play another easy ukulele song with our Molly Malone ukulele tutorial. Strumming pattern for the verses is easy with an all-down flow. For the chorus, Jenny does a fingerpicking style which you can follow on the video. Jenny also plays part of the song as solo melody. With the help of the tab sheet and of course the Molly Malone ukulele tutorial, you’ll be sure to play a solo melody for this folk tune too. For the chords, the song uses just five: C, A minor, D minor, G and E minor.

Roger Miller's King of the Road Ukulele Tutorial

King of the Road is a chart-topping country to pop crossover song. American musician and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Roger Dean Miller wrote the lyrics of the song in 1964. Read more here.

In the following King of the Road ukulele tutorial, Jenny illustrates the chords and strums. While the song uses three very easy chords: G, C and D7; the strum pattern is a bit tricky. The strum pattern follows an uneven down (1), down-up (2), up (3) down-up (4) flow. The song is also a bit fast which adds to the strumming challenge but keep working on it and you’ll surely find the rhythm. Check out the video here

How to Play Nearer My God to Thee - Easy Ukulele Tutorial

Nearer My God to Thee is a great song for beginners to learn on the ukulele since it only has three chords. Jenny does a ‘sing and strum’ in the key of C and a ‘solo melody’ in the key of G. This way you have the option to play in either key or even both if you like.

For the key of C, we have the chords C, F and G7 while for the key of G, we got G,  C and D7. Jenny does an all-down strum (four beats per measure) on the first verse. To vary up a little bit, she tries a down (1), down (2), up-down (3), down-up (4) on the second verse. In addition, she also does a fingerpicking strum on the third verse. Ain't She Sweet Video Tutorial

Here’s a couple of reasons why you should learn how to play “Ain’t She Sweet” on the ukulele.

First of all, “Ain’t She Sweet” is a classic song that’s popular since the 1920s. Learning it adds a historic song on your list of ukulele songs.

In addition, many famous artists have performed it including the Fab Four themselves. The Beatles have performed it many times as a group including a ukulele rendition in 1995.

Jenny gives some lessons on how to play “Ain’t She Sweet” on the ukulele in the above video.

Rather than play a standard ukulele, she uses a banjolele that sounds real cool and goes really well with the song. A banjolele looks like a banjo but is tuned like a ukulele.
